MPSF raises over $77,000 for Mason Public Schools thanks to generous community members and presents two “Top Dog” awards at annual Commercial Bank Red Carpet Gala
MASON, MI: Mason Public Schools Foundation delivers for students at Mason Public Schools and celebrates local community and school leaders once again at the Commercial Bank Red Carpet Gala held on April 23, 2022 at the Michigan State University Club. The foundation raised over $77,000 between sponsorships from local businesses and families and the live and silent auctions at the event.
MPSF President, Barb Byrum said, “The Mason community showed up for Mason students once again this year. After canceling last year’s event due to COVID, we were blown away by the way local businesses and community members supported our event both through sponsorships and attending the event. The crowd at the event was definitely there with a goal to raise money for Mason students, generously purchasing auction items and having a great time in support of a great cause.”
This year’s event also included an award ceremony for TWO “Top Dogs” in Mason. The recipient of the community “Top Dog” award was presented to Commercial Bank for their outstanding support of Mason Public Schools and the community as a whole. Byrum said, “Commercial Bank really stepped up their financial support this year, doubling down on their efforts and support of our events. In addition to being the title sponsor for both of our events, their team members are embedded on the planning committees.”
The second “Top Dog” award, which was introduced this year to honor support staff at Mason Public Schools, was presented to Trevor Bulmer, Transportation Supervisor. Melissa Nay, Vice President, MPSF said, “When this award was discussed with our foundation board, many of whom are parents in the district, Trevor’s name rose to the top of our list immediately. Trevor is new to our district but has already become a parent favorite with his amazing, helpful communication. We all feel comfortable with our kids riding district buses and know exactly what sort of delays we might expect thanks to Trevor! The board voted unanimously to present Trevor this award.”
The MPSF isn’t done with its fundraising efforts for 2022 just yet! The Commercial Bank Mason 5K will be held on Friday, May 6 in downtown Mason.
